ASUS unveiled the company's latest innovations and concepts at a keynote speech two days before the official opening of the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. During the presentation, ASUS Chairman Jonney Shih praised the Eee PC brand which established the industry trend for netbooks. Keeping that success in mind, ASUS introduced the new Eee PC T91 and T101H.
The Eee PC T91 and T101H are the latest models of Eee PC and feature 8.9-inch and 10-inch screens respectively. However, the key feature most people will care about is that the new T91 and T101H are touch-based tablets. The T91 is a two-pound, one-inch thick tablet featuring the Intel Z520 Atom processor. It also features built-in GPS and apparently will also have an optional TV-tuner. We'll have more details on these new netbook tablets (including price) soon.
ASUS is projecting to ship 7 million Eee PCs by the end of 2009 and WiMax-embedded Eee PCs are to become available in North American by the end of Q1 2009. Bottom line, the Eee PC family of netbooks looks like it's here to stay.
