Motorola is reportedly going to introduce its first tablet computer running Google's Android OS late this fall.
According to information leaking out of Motorola, this company's upcoming tablet will have a 10-inch display.
It will also supposedly use the next version of Google's operating system. Details on the next version of this OS -- code-named Gingerbread -- are few and far between at this point, but one of the main features of Android OS 3.0 is expected to be support for 1280x760 displays. As it stands now, this OS maxes out as 800 x 680 (WVGA).
Tablets with 10-inch displays like Motorola's will surely benefit from this higher resolution.
Coming to Verizon?
A few months ago, Verizon CEO Lowell McAdam said that his company is going to offer tablet computers running the Android OS this fall.
Motorola was one of the companies McAdam said Verizon was working with to produce these, so it's possible Motorola's 10-inch tablet is going to be offered through Verizon.
All the other details on this device are currently unknown.
Debuting in Late Fall
Whether it is sold through Verizon or not, Motorola's initial Android OS-powered tablet computer will reportedly launch in November.
There is no word yet on what it will sell for.
