Pandigital has announced that it is adding an ePaper model to its Novel eReader line later this month.
The device will feature a 6-inch (600 x 800) eInk-like touchscreen display that has 16-level grayscale. With its small size (4.88 x 6.75 x 0.38) and non-reflective screen, portability and outdoor usability is the intended purpose.
Pandigital President John Clough said that the device is "for the many readers who love to catch up on their books outdoors, on vacation or just when they have a moment to relax."
The 9.1-ounce device will have access to the Barnes & Noble eBook store and the company claims it will last up to 6,000 page turns before its battery expires.
Specs include built-in Wi-Fi and web browser, 2GB of storage, SD card support up to 32GB, built-in mini USB port, rechargeable battery via AC adapter or USB, speaker and stereo-mini headphone jack, virtual keyboard, calendar, and alarm clock.
