We all know Apple dominates the tablet market with the ultra-successful iPad. But, how much of the tablet market do you think the iPad owns?
Try 95%.
Strategy Analytics has released numbers showing Apple as having a whopping 95% of the market following Q3. Apple claims to have sold 4.19 million during the quarter that saw 4.4 million total tablets sold in total.
Meanwhile, Android took a minor hit during Q3. Its share fell from 2.9% in Q2 to 2.3%. Strategy Analytics claimed that Android will bounce back in Q4 and going forward once the wave of Google-powered tablets enters the market, including the Samsung Galaxy Tab. The Android-powered Tab will begin shipping on November 10 and will be available from at least five major US cellular carriers.
