Netbook Navigator recently launched a 7-inch Windows 7 tablet, the NAV7 slate, which features a compact form factor design and is now available for pre-order.
The NAV7 Slate PC weighs in at 1.25 pounds and is powered by a 1.6 GHz Intel processor. It sports 2GB of RAM, a 1.8-inch solid state drive (with 16, 32, or 64GB capacity), and 2 USB ports. It also features a front-side webcam, an optional embedded 3G data connection, and Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity.
One of the more unique aspects of the NAV7 takes a leaf out of the Xperia Play’s book: it has a back-side touchpad, complete with mouse buttons. Other features include a swappable battery with a lifetime of approximately 4 hours and a 1024 x 600 resolution on its capacitive, multitouch LCD screen.
The NAV7 pre-orders are available in limited quantities on a first-come, first-serve basis, with a number of different configuration options, starting from $649. Customers that place their orders in March can expect to see their tablet by May.
