Alleged iPad 3 Pics Leak, Looks Just Like an iPad 2

We must be nearing the next-generation iPad launch, judging by the steadiness of the leaks. Now, actual pictures of what may be the iPad 3 have surfaced, and they show a tablet that looks almost exactly like an iPad 2.

In fact, the only noticeable difference between the iPad 2 and iPad 3 design is the larger camera lens. Previous rumors have suggested the bigger lens will accommodate a 5- to 8-megapixel camera, perhaps the same as found on the iPhone 4S.

The iPad 3 also appears to be slightly thicker than the iPad 2, which aligns with reports that the next-generation iPad will be slightly thicker to accommodate a higher-resolution display and larger battery.

Apple Daily, which first published the pics, also notes what 9to5Mac calls new cabling.

The Apple iPad 3 is expected to launch on March 7, with the most recent rumors all but confirming the new iPad will have double the pixels per inch compared to the iPad and iPad 2. Other specs may include a new Apple A6 processor, which could be a quad-core system on a chip, and LTE support.
