HP Reveals Price and Release Date for Envy x2 Windows 8 Dockable Tablet

HP Envy x2The Envy x2, the first Windows 8 tablet from HP featuring a keyboard dock, has just been priced and given a release date just a few weeks away. This tablet might come with a bit of sticker shock, as it is going to have a price higher than many of its consumer-oriented competitors.

The Envy x2 is due out on November 14 and will have a price tag of $850 which, while on the slightly more expensive side, accounts for the tablet's included keyboard dock.

Other features of the dockable tablet will include a 11.6-inch screen with a 1366 x 768 resolution, as well as a 1.8 Ghz Intel Clover Trail Z2760 processor under the hood.

This model will run the full version of Windows 8. HP has decided to pass on making products with Windows 8 RT, at least for the time being.

Another Option

HP's Windows 8 tablet endeavors won't end with the Envy x2, however, as it will eventually be followed by the business-oriented ElitePad 900. However, that device has yet to be priced and will not be arriving until January of next year.

For more details on the HP Envy x2, have a look at this hands-on preview from when our sister site NotebookReview got to see it back in August.
