Microsoft recently held the formal launch of Windows 8 and Windows RT, two new versions of its iconic operating system designed to run on devices with touchscreens. These have a lot in common, but at least one enourmous difference: only models with Windows 8 can run software written for Winows 7 and before.
Something these two have in common is that these operating systems are so new that almost no tablets running them have actually been released. This means that a "Top 5" lis is, at this point, a bit theoretical, and is heavily based on our impressions of upcoming models.

A version with 32GB of storage costs $500, one with the same storage and a Smart Cover detachabble cover/keyboard is $600, and one with the Touch Cover and 64GB is $700 |
