AT&T Releases Samsung ATIV Smart PC and Galaxy Tab 2 10.1

Samsung ATIV Smart PCFollowing up the announcement made earlier this week, AT&T is now offering the Samsung ATIV Smart PC and Galaxy Tab 2 10.1. Both tablet are available at att.com and nationwide in AT&T retailers.

Samsung ATIV smart PC

The Samsung ATIV smart PC runs on Microsoft's new Windows 8 operating system (with the option available to upgrade to Windows 8 Professional). The tablet houses an 11.6-inch display with a 1366 x 768 resolution. It also offers a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 2GB of RAM.

Running on Windows 8 the device promises full compatibility with existing software and applications that have run on older Microsoft operating systems, making transitioning to the new OS a breeze.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 Consumers who purchase the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, will be able to connect to AT&T's wireless network (data plan required). The new extended connectivity, in conjunction with the devices powerful 7,000 mAh battery, provides users with a strong level of long lasting productivity.

Other highlights of the device include its 10.1-inch display with a 1280 x 800 resolution, a 1GHz dual-core processor, and 1GB of RAM. The tablet also houses 16GB of internal storage, and is microSD compatible offering up to 32GB of additional storage. Unlike the Samsung ATIV smart PC, the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 will run on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) operating system.

Pricing

The Samsung ATIV smart PC is offered at $800, while the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 sells for $500, with data plans starting at $10 per month.

They qualify for AT&T $100 holiday discount on tablets when purchased along with a new wireless service plan.
