Microsoft has a habit of releasing updates for its products on Tuesday, and Windows RT has been added to this list. Microsoft Surface users can now update their tablet with a number of tweaks.
iPad and Android users have grown accustomed to fairly monumental upgrades that come just a few times a year and often bring new features in addition to bug fixes, but that's not the way it works with Windows.
Instead, the update released for the surface has a handful of patches and security fixes. It's a sign that this is going to be par for the course -- Surface users will need to get used to frequently updating their tablet with small tweaks, just as they do with any other Windows-based computer.
It's not necessary to connect Microsoft's tablet to another computer in order to update the firmware. Windows Update can be found right in the settings area.
