Microsoft Surface Will Have 4-5 Years of Support

Microsoft apparently wants those who get a Surface tablet to feel safe. The company says it will support the device for years to come.

The operating system and bundled applications will get five years of support, which is standard for Microsoft software.

Support for the hardware will be just a bit shorter: 4 years. This isn't how long the warranty will last, but how long owners of this device will be able to get it fixed if something goes wrong in the future, like they drop and break it. Hardware support will last until April 11, 2017.
