In hopes of attracting gift buyers, the Nook Simple Touch from Barnes & Noble is now available for $80. This ereader first debuted last year, and previously sold for $100.
As its name implies, this is a relatively simple device, with a 6-inch eInk greyscale touchscreen, 2GB of on-board memory, Wi-Fi, and support for microSD cards. Unlike more powerful tablets, it is focused almost entirely on ebooks, and has access to a library of over 2.5 million titles.
This is not a sale -- Barnes & Noble are permanently lowering the price for this ereader.
The Nook Simple Touch is available at Barnes & Noble retail stores, online at nook.com and through other retailers, including Walmart, Target and Best Buy.
