There might be an answer for those who are wondering when the fifth-generation iPad is going to be released: in just a few months.
Starting in 2010, Apple introduced an iPad each spring, but shook things up by introducing the fourth-generation model this fall. This has left people wondering when the next model will be out, in the spring or in the fall?
According to a report in the Japanese website Macotakara, the next full-size iPad is going to be released in March. This will allegedly be thinner than the current model, and look a bit more like the iPad mini than the current version does.
The iPad 3 was replaced in about half a year because sales were slow -- it seems many customers didn't think it was enough of an improvement over the iPad 2.
A previous unconfirmed report indicated that Apple would be splitting the difference, and the iPad 5 won't be out until the summer. Only time will tell which of these reports turns out to be correct.
