Sony unveiled the Xperia Z smartphone at CES. Now an unconfirmed report indicates the company is going to expand that device into a tablet.
Rather than the 5-inch display in the handset, the Xperia Tablet Z will supposedly have a 10.1-inch screen with a 1920 x 1080 resolution. Both devices are expected to be water and dust-resistent.
It will run Google Android 4.1 on a 1.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, with 2GB RAM, if the report from Xperia infois correct. Its wireless capabilities should encompass 4G LTE, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, and NFC.
Other features will allegedly include an 8.1 megapixel rear-facing camera and a 2.2MP front-facing camera. A 6,000mAh battery will keep it going.
The Sony Xperia Tablet Z isn't expected to be released until the second half of this year.
