Asus Might Also Make Second-Gen Google Nexus 7

Anticipation is starting to stir for the follow-up to last summer's Google Nexus 7. A new report says this will have much in common with its predecessor.

Citing unnamed sources, DigiTimes is reporting that Google is once again working with Asus to introduce a second Nexus 7 that will have a higher-resolution screen: 1920 x 1080,up from 1280 x 800. The model will supposedly have a smaller bezel, apparently making the whole device slightly smaller.

Prices are supposedly not going to change, falling between $200 and $250.

The second Google Nexus 7 is allegedly going to be unveiled in May, and will debut with Android 4.2.

Not Everyone Agrees

An equally unconfirmed report from earlier this month had some contradictory details. It indicated that the follow-up to this tablet would be made by LG and will have a 7.7-inch screen. Rather and Android 4.2, that report said the device will be release with an upming version of Google's mobile operating system.

For the Nexus series of smartphones and tablets, Google works with various companies to make devices that show off its operating system's capabilities.
