The S-Pen is development of Wacom, and it has helped differentiate the Note smartphones and Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet from their competitors, contributing to their success. These devices come with a collection of software for drawing, note-taking, etc. that take advantage of the pressure-sensitive stylus.
In a statement about this deal, which is valued at $58 million, the company said, "Wacom expects the inclusion of its digital pens in Samsung Electronics' smartphones and tablets to lead to the expansion of the user base of its products."
The Galaxy Note 8.0 is going to be unveiled later this month.
