Neither Google nor Asus have spelled out just how many Nexus 7 units have been sold since the tablet debuted last summer, but an analyst thinks he has a ballpark figure.
Benedict Evans pegs the figure at "4.5m to 4.6m, and no more than 4.8m". He says that came from 2.2 million units being sold in Q2 and Q3, followed by 2.4 million in Q4.
The industry analyst thinks these sales figures were enough to put the Nexus 7 in third place in the global tablet market last year, with about half the sales of similarly-sized Apple iPad minis, and behind the Amazon Kindle Fire, too.
