Toshiba gave the world a first look at its next tablet running Windows 8 Pro. The WT310 is going to have an unusually large display, a stylus, and an SSD.
The WT310 will run Windows 8 Pro on an Intel processor, but Toshiba did not say which one. In fact, the company has not yet revealed many of the details of this upcoming model, such as the amount of RAM.
Toshiba promises that this device will be able to stand up to the abuse of everyday use. As part of this, it will use a solid state drive (SSD) with no spinning hard drive.
The WT310 will include a full-size USB 3.0 port, an HDMI micro port, and a full-size SD memory card slot. These will all be located along the left side. An optional desktop dock will bring more USB ports, a full-size HDMI port, and an Ethernet port.
For wireless connectivity, the tablet will have with Wi-Fi b/g/n or a/g/b/n. One version will come with support for HSPA+ and LTE cellular-wireless data networks.
The Toshiba WT310 is scheduled to be released in the U.K. before the end of June. When it will be available in other countries is unknown, as is its price.
