Now, Gmail users who click on Chrome, Google Maps and YouTube links within the Gmail app will be taken directly to those apps -- assuming they've downloaded them to the devices -- instead of to the services within a web browser. Users may elect to turn the new feature on or off.
The update also allows users to sign out of one account at a time, rather than all accounts at once. Gmail for iOS supports up to five individual Gmail accounts.
The Gmail app is available as a free download in Apple's App store. It requires iOS 5.0 or later.
