RIM is really gunning after the iPad, as the BlackBerry maker has released a video showcasing its PlayBook’s browser capabilities very favorably compared against the iPad.
The video shows off the BlackBerry PlayBook loading and rendering speed, which runs laps around the iPad. RIM also shows the benefits of Flash support, which the iPad lacks, and how well the PlayBook renders the Acid3 standard compatibility test.
Of course, RIM most likely selected tests that display the PlayBook’s prowess, and the first-generation iPad is nearing the end of its run. In fact, many expect the second-generation iPad, which should fare better in browser tests, to be available soon after the BlackBerry PlayBook hits store shelves.
What do you think? Does the PlayBook impress?
