In the company of Yahoo! co-founder Jerry Yang and Ivanka Trump, daughter to The Donald, HP debuted the Photosmart eStation at its IPG Innovation Summit in New York. TabletPCReview readers might know the eStation by its rumored mythical moniker, the Zeus and Zeen printer and tablet combo.
While the company seemed reluctant to call the detachable printer monitor a tablet (perhaps to avoid confusion with their future tablet devices), it certainly meets tablet specs. That includes the Google Android OS (version 2.1, HP claims 2.2 is coming soon) underneath a custom skin, WiFi, a full web browser, Barnes & Noble eBook application, as well as widgets and apps courtesy of Yahoo!.
I was in New York covering the event for TabletPCReview sister site PrinterComparison, and I spent some time with the eStation, which was the most buzz-worthy device at the unveiling. Read on for my eStation hands-on report from New York.
