The fifth-generation iPad is going to be announced in mid-June and released shorty thereafter, according to an unconfirmed report.
The little-known website Tacitus.com has obtained pictures of what's supposedly a case designed for the iPad 5. This shows that Apple's next tablet won't be as wide as its predecessor -- which is in-line with previous rumors.
[click to view image]The same source goes on to assert that the device is scheduled to be unveiled on June 18 at a media event, and released on June 27.
Still, this should be taken with a grain of salt. Rumors of when the iPad 5 is going to be introduced range widely, from later this month all the way to this fall.
As mentioned, a number of reports have indicated that Apple intends to shrink the bezels on its upcoming tablet, reducing the overall width and making the computer look a bit more like the iPad mini.
