7-inch Toshiba Thrive Tablet Available Now
Toshiba has kept true to its early December arrival promise for the 7-inch Thrive tablet, which is officially available in stores and online.
The compact slate went on sale yesterday, hitting the U.S., after it first launched in Canada last week. The Android 3.2-powered device retails for $379.99 and $429.99 for the 16GB and 32GB models, respectively.
Packing a Tegra 2 dual-core processor processor, the 7-inch slate sports a similar design to that of the original Thrive, though due to its size, the smaller Thrive features a miniUSB port, a microHDMI out and a microSD slot. The compact slate ships with a 2MP front-facing camera, a 5MP rear shooter and support for GPS, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Like another seven-inch Honeycomb tablet, the T-Mobile Springboard, the smaller Thrive has a high screen resolution, with more than 200 pixels per inch of screen real estate.
