Toshiba has kept true to its early December arrival promise for the 7-inch Thrive tablet, which is officially available in stores and online.

Toshiba Thrive 7-inch tabletThe compact slate went on sale yesterday, hitting the U.S., after it first launched in Canada last week. The Android 3.2-powered device retails for $379.99 and $429.99 for the 16GB and 32GB models, respectively.

Packing a Tegra 2 dual-core processor processor, the 7-inch slate sports a similar design to that of the original Thrive, though due to its size, the smaller Thrive features a miniUSB port, a microHDMI out and a microSD slot. The compact slate ships with a 2MP front-facing camera, a 5MP rear shooter and support for GPS, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Like another seven-inch Honeycomb tablet, the T-Mobile Springboard, the smaller Thrive has a high screen resolution, with more than 200 pixels per inch of screen real estate.
