Acer Aspire P3 Might Give Windows 8 Tablet Buyers Another Option
It’s not official, but some details have leaked out on the Acer Aspire P3, a tablet that will apparently have much in common with the Microsoft Surface.
This goes beyond the obvious — they will both be Windows 8 tablets — as much of the resemblance comes from a thin clip-in keyboard that appears in what is supposedly an image of this computer (at right). The Surface is known for its chip-in keyboard, and Acer seems to like the idea, too.
The Aspire P3 will sport an 11.6-inch touchscreen with a 1600 x 900 resolution, according to an unconfirmed report by Tech2.hu. This is a larger, higher-res display than the one in Microsoft’s offering.
On the inside will allegedly be an Intel Ivy Bridge processor. There will be a range of storage options: 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB. The leaked image shows a USB port on the left side, right next to an HDMI video-out port.
It’s not known when the Acer Aspire P3 will be released, or what it will cost.
