There will soon be a new option for people looking for a sub-$150 tablet.
The Iconia One 7 will sport an LED-backlit 7-inch display with a 1280×800 resolution and IPS technology. The device has been built around an Intel dual-core processor and it runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out of the box, upgradeable to Android 4.4 KitKat.
The tablet will to be 0.35-inches thick and comes equipped with rear and front-facing cameras, two speakers, and a microSD card slot for expandable storage options. Acer said the tablet will offer up to seven hours of battery life.
The Iconia One 7 will be available in Pan-American markets in late June and in Europe, Middle East, and African markets by mid May. Prices start at $130.
A Super-Size Smartphone
Acer also revealed the Iconia Tab 7 smartphone, which will not be released in the U.S., but will be available in Latin America and Europe by late June.
The device will include voice functionality and 3G connectivity to combine the features of a tablet and smartphone into a single device. The Tab 7 will run on a quad-core processor and include Android 4.4, dual cameras, and up to six hours of battery life, according to Acer.
