Acer Iconia Tab W Mid-Size Windows Tablet Will Cost Just $150

Acer has joined Toshiba in announcing a very affordable Windows tablet; the Iconia Tab W will be a mid-size model that sells for $149.99.

Acer Iconia Tab W -- Angled ViewIts 8-inch IPS display will have a 1280 x 800-pixel resolution, and the device will be 0.38 inches (10 mm) thick and weigh in at 0.8 lbs. (370 g).

The Iconia Tab W will run the full version of Windows 8.1 on an Intel Atom quad-core Z3735G processor. There will be 1 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage, with a microSD card slot for adding more storage.

Like all the latest-generation of small Windows tablets, it will come with a 1-year subscription to Office 365.

The device will have a Micro USB port for charging on the go, dual stereo speakers, and front- and rear-facing cameras. Acer is promising that it will have 8 hours of battery life.

The Iconia Tab 8 W will be available in Europe in October for 149€. U.S. buyers will have to wait until November.

Acer is also going to offer an optional keyboard designed to work with this tablet.
