Images have leaked out of an Acer model that could be the first mid-size Windows 8 tablet.
Until recently, a tablet had to have a 1366 x 768 resolution to get a Windows certification from Microsoft, but that was recently reduced to 1024 x 768 — a move that many believe was intended to open up the door from smaller devices.. The 8-inch screen on Acer’s upcoming one will reportedly have a 1280 x 800 resolution.
Windows 8 Not RT
The source for this unconfirmed report says the Iconia W3 will be a full Windows 8 computer, not one based on the simpler Windows RT. It will allegedly use an Intel Atom Clover Trail Z2760 dual-core processor, and have 2GB of RAM.
The tablet is expected to include front- and rear-facing cameras. However, all additional details of this device remain a mystery.
