The Amazon Cloud Player for Web is now available for the iPad as part of the numerous enhancements by Amazon for its Cloud Drive.

Though there is no app for this function, customers can access Cloud Player through the iPad’s Safari browser at, allowing them the luxury of listening to their music whenever they want.

The Cloud Drive platform and Cloud Player, introduced by Amazon in March, allows users to upload, stream and play music on any Mac, PC, Android phone and tablet, and now on the iPad.

Besides iPad compatibility, Amazon announced a limited time offer of unlimited space for MP3 and AAC music files for customers who purchase a $20 annual Cloud Drive plan, which previously offered 20GB worth of storage. MP3s purchased through Amazon will not count against any data cap, including files obtained before the launch of Amazon Cloud.

However, the length of this “limited time” offer was not specified and the unlimited storage applies only to music files.

It is uncertain if Amazon will release an iOS app, a result of Apple’s regulations regarding in-app purchase links, though Web access provides a loop-hole to such rules.
