Amazon Kindle Becomes Highest-Selling Product in Company’s History

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows has been dethroned as the best-selling product in Amazon.com’s history, as the company stated in a press release that the third generation of its very own Kindle eReader has now taken the number one spot.

Amazon Kindle“We’re grateful to the millions of customers who have made the all-new Kindle the bestselling product in the history of Amazon, surpassing Harry Potter 7,” said Amazon.com founder and CEO Jeff Bezos.

Exactly how many units of the popular eReader have been sold, however, remains a mystery, as Amazon did not provide a specific number in the press release.

Both the Wi-Fi and 3G versions of the Kindle were the best-selling products on Amazon.com this holiday season, and on Christmas day, more people turned on new Kindles for the first time and purchased more Kindle books than on any other day in history.
