Reports are coming in that Google has started to send out a new version of the Android OS to its Nexus tablets. This appears to be just a “bug fix” update, however.
Those who have already received Android 4.2.2 note that it only claims to “improve performance and stability”. No mention is made of new features.
The Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 are getting this new version before any other tablets because they are part of the Nexus series. Every device in this series — smartphone and tablet — run a “vanilla” version of Android, and can therefore be upgraded more easily than other models that have custom user interfaces developed by their manufacturers.
