Reports are coming in that Google has started to send out a new version of the Android OS to its Nexus tablets. This appears to be just a “bug fix” update, however.

Android 4.2Those who have already received Android 4.2.2 note that it only claims to “improve performance and stability”. No mention is made of new features.

The Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 are getting this new version before any other tablets because they are part of the Nexus series. Every device in this series — smartphone and tablet — run a “vanilla” version of Android, and can therefore be upgraded more easily than other models that have custom user interfaces developed by their manufacturers.
