Angry Birds Comes to PlayBook, Facebook Update Too

Considering all news coming out of RIM regarding the PlayBook has been bad news as of late, the arrival of Angry Birds and an update to the PlayBook Facebook app (the first designed for tablets) has to be a welcome change of pace.

For $4.99 each, all three Angry Birds games – the original, Seasons, and Rio – are available in BlackBerry App World. The apps are ad-free, but include a $4 BlackBerry premium, considering they are only $.99 on the iPad and Kindle Fire.

The free Facebook app is also seeing an update to version 2.1, and it includes Facebook Groups and what the BlackBerry blog calls “improved media access,” which means new pot and video buttons.

Retailers are currently discounting the BlackBerry PlayBook for the holiday season. We found the tablet to be a solid device in our full PlayBook review, but we currently lament the delayed OS update that is said to bring an Android app player and native email client.
