Angry Birds fans looking to get their hands on the mighty eagle will now have the opportunity; however they’ll also need a NOOK Color and a Barnes & Noble retail location.
Barnes & Noble has announced that it will be the first “magic place” for the popular tablet and smartphone time waster. The notion is intriguing: customers will have to visit a certain location to access some particular aspect of a game. The reality is not particularly romantic, as the game is Angry Birds, the location is a Barnes & Noble store, and the aspect of the game is a single unlockable character.
To add to the enticement, B&N is offering free Angry Birds stickers and temporary tattoos, and selling games, toys, and other merchandise.
Access to the mighty eagle will be limited to NOOK Color users who are connected to an in-store B & N Wi-Fi connection and are running the $3 Angry Birds app. As for everyone else, I am very, very sorry, as there is currently no timetable for a widespread mighty eagle release.
