Not long after the number of native iPad apps topped 100,000, Apple has announced that over 15 billion apps have been downloaded from its App Store.
Perhaps it should come as no surprise, as there are more than 425,000 apps currently available in the store, and more than 200 million iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch users in 90 different countries that were responsible for jacking up the total number of downloads past 15 billion.
The total number of downloads from the App Store, which was launched in 2008, has steadily been on the rise. The five billion mark was hit in July of 2010, with the 10 billionth download occurring January of this year. Now, in keeping with the recently-established pace of five billion downloads every six months, the total number has reached 15 billion.
