Apple has announced that sales in its App Store topped $10 billion in 2013, with December sales surpassing $1 billion in the month alone.
The technology giant noted December 2013 is the most successful month in App Store history, with customers downloading over three billion apps throughout the month.
The Cupertino clan credits the development and release of iOS 7 for some of its spike in sales. Acccording to the company, the more fluid user interface allowed developers to create apps with a friendly user interface and over 200 new features and APIs.
Some of the most popular apps of the year were Candy Crush Saga, Ellen DeGeneres’ Heads Up, and QuizUp. There are over 500,000 native iPad titles available in the Apple App Store, and over one million compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad.
