The iPad 2 will soon be discontinued, as Apple makes room in its product line-up for the iPad Mini. That’s the prediction of one industry analyst, anyway.
Rob Cihra with Evercore Partners said in a note to investors that he expects this role to be filled with the iPad Mini, which is likely to be unveiled next week. Earlier unconfirmed reports have indicated that this tablet, which will supposedly have a 7.85-inch display, will start at $250.
The iPad 2 launched in 2011 and has a 10.1-inch touchscreen. The iPad Mini will reportedly have the same screen resolution — 1024 x 768.
