Target Corp. announced that it will begin selling the Apple iPad in 1,743 store locations on October 3. Shoppers will be able to pick up both the WiFi and WiFi + 3G versions of the 16GB, 32GB and 64GB models.
The device will start at $500, just as it does in the Apple Store and online. With the announcement, Target becomes the largest retail store to market the iPad, which is also available at electronics retailers like Best Buy and Micro Center.
Rumors suggest that Walmart is also pushing to begin selling the iPad. The big-box retailer already sells the iPhone.
