Apple iPad Mini Could Be as Little as $250
The price for the upcoming 8-inch version of Apple’s tablet may have leaked out. If this turns out to be accurate, then the iPad Mini is going to be quite affordable.
The price list came to light in Germany, and the prices are therefore in Euros. An 8GB model will reportedly be 250?, a 16GB one will be 350€, a 32GB one is going to be 450€, while a 64GB version will be 550€.
Using these to judge the U.S. prices can give some approximate figures. For example, the 16GB version of the full-size iPad is 480€ in Germany and $500 in America. The 32GB version is 100€ and $100 more, and the same pattern holds true for the 64GB one. If the same holds true for the iPad Mini, then a logical prediction is that the 8GB version will likely come in around $250, the 16GB model will be $350, the 32GB should be $450, and the 64GB model will be $550.
According to the German leak, Apple will offer versions of this device with cellular-wireless connectivity, a feature that will add 120€ to the cost. In the U.S., this feature is an addition $130 on the iPad.
More on the iPad Mini
According to a series of unconfirmed reports that have came out over the last few months, Apple’s miniature tablet will have a 7.85 inch touchscreen — smaller than the 9.8-inch one on the company’s previous models. It will allegedly have a 1024 x 768 resolution, the same as the first- and second-generation iPads.
Naturally, the iPad Mini will debut running Apple iOS 6, giving it Siri support. It will reportedly have both front and rear-facing cameras and dual stereo speakers.
Apple will formally unveil this product on Oct. 23, according to inside sources.
