As a result of the Apple v. Samsung Trial the sales tablet sales records of both companies have been released. Samsung is known as one of the biggest players in the mobile smartphone market, but how do they compare with Apple in terms of tablet sales?
Not surprisingly, Apple’s Tablet sales are far stronger than Samsung’s. To put things in perspective, so far Apple has sold 34 million iPad units generating around $19 billion, while Samsung’s total sales of the three Galaxy Tab models were around 1.4 millon units, generating $644 million.
Perhaps even more interesting than Apple’s dominance of the tablet market is its steady level of growth over the last couple of years. For example, in Q1 and Q2 of 2011, Apple sold around 6.2 million units. Thus far in 2012, Apple has sold almost 4 million more units.
Considering that the Galaxy Tab has been a major component of this trial (already being banned in some parts of the world), it is interesting that Apple’s sales have seemingly remained unchanged.
