Apple has invited the press to an event to be held a week from today. This is widely expected to be the unveiling of the much-rumored iPad Mini.
The use of the word “little” is assumed to be a reference to the size of this device, which numerous leaks have indicated will be smaller than the current iPad versions. Specifically, it is expected to have a 7.85 inch touchscreen with a 1024×768 resolution.
What the Rumors Say
The iPad Mini will almost certainly launch running Apple iOS 6, giving it Siri support. It will reportedly have both front- and rear-facing cameras plus dual stereo speakers.
Naturally, the price for the various versions is not yet official — Apple has yet to confirm that this device exists. Still, an unconfirmed report indicates that the options will be an 8GB version for around $250, a 16GB model will be about $350, a 32GB one should be $450, and the 64GB model will be approximately $550. Adding 4G support to this will be an additional $130.
