UPDATE, again: A couple of new bits of information have come out in the aftermath of the Best Buy page listing. Firstly, the $400 price is for the 16 GB version of the Eee Pad Transformer. A 32 GB version should also arrive in the U.S, and should be listed at $500. Also the keyboard dock, one of the major selling points of the Transformer and the primary focus of its marketing campaign, is now priced, appearing online for $150.

UPDATE: Engadget’s uncovered that the Best Buy page has been pulled. We did our own searching around, and there’s no place on Best Buy or anywhere else on the U.S. side of the web where you can buy a Transformer ( currently has it listed for pre-order 380 British Pounds). Details should be forthcoming, and we’ll update as soon as they are available.

An update has come on the Eee Pad Transformer’s trek to America, as Best Buy has begun listing the tablet at a very attractive price point.

A product listing for the Transformer in the Best Buy online store provides two key details about the Transformer launch: the first is that it will be available from Best Buy. The second is that it will cost only $400, making it one of the least expensive Honeycomb tablets available.

ASUS Eee Pad TransformerThe Transformer debuted last week in Taiwan (ASUS’ headquarters) and arrived in the UK a few days later. An announcement about availability and configurations of the U.S. model should come soon.

The primary selling point of the Transformer, which originally debuted at CES, is its compatibility with an attachable keyboard, which essentially turns the tablet into a touchscreen laptop. No word yet on how much the accompanying keyboard will cost. And while Best Buy doesn’t currently list any availability dates, ASUS’ PR staff has told us that the Eee Pad Transformer will begin shipping in the U.S. in April.
