IFA 2013At Computex in June, Asus was showing off the Transformer Pad Infinity 2. This has not yet been released, and the company is demoing it again at IFA in Berlin, but this Android tablet now has a new name.

Like the earlier models in this series, the Transformer Pad TF701T will be a tablet that gives users the option of attaching an external keyboard — non-magically transforming it into a laptop.

It is going to include a 10.1-inch touchscreen with 2560 x 1600 resolution. This will give it a pixel density of 300ppi.

Asus Transformer Pad TF701TThe tablet will run Google’s Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) operating system on a 1.9GHz Nvidia Tegra 4 processor. This sports a 72-core GeForce GPU, allowing it to easily handle the very high-res screen as well as 4K TV over an HDMI connection.

The TF701T is going to include 2GB of RAM, and there will be 32GB and 64GB versions available. A microSD memory card slot will enable additional storage.

It will have a 5MP rear camera and a 1.2 megapixel webcam.

The keyboard dock will have a multi-touch touchpad, USB 3.0, and an SDXC card reader, as well as a built-in battery to recharge the main unit.

Pricing and Availability

The Asus Transformer Pad TF701T is scheduled to be released before the end of this month.

The tablet will be $400, while a bundle of it and the keyboard dock will be $500.
