The CES news is coming out fast and furious, with ASUS revealing plans to release a Windows 8 ARM tablet in 2012, with what TPCR believes could be a possible launch at CES. In addition, ASUS will show off a new 7-inch tablet, possibly the glasses-free 3D MeMO, and a 10-inch tablet with a high resolution screen, both likely running Android Ice Cream Sandwich. Rounding out the new ASUS CES tablets will be a 3G Transformer Prime with improved GPS performance.
The news comes out of Taipei, from a pre-CES presentation in which ASUS Eee division head Samon Hu outlined the ASUS 2012 tablet product roadmap. Rumors and rumblings that ASUS would release a Windows 8 ARM tablet and 7-inch tablet circulated earlier this year. TabletPCReview will be in Vegas, and the team will certainly visit with ASUS to get the scoop, and hopefully catch at least a glimpse of the Windows 8 ARM tablet.
But what about the other ASUS products rumored for CES? The Padfone tablet with docking smartphone combo was announced at Computex in September, but hasn’t been seen since. A CES re-introduction might be in order. Finally, Hu mentioned two additional 10-inch tablets slotted for release in 2012, but no further details were provided.
