AT&T’s support for Windows tablets extended beyond the Samsung Ativ Smart PC today when the carrier announced that it will begin selling the Asus VivoTab RT in time for the holiday season.
AT&T claims that it is offering both the VivoTab RT and the Ativ Smart PC exclusively, with no other carriers offering them in the U.S. Interested customers will be able to purchase them at either brick-and-mortar AT&T stores, or online at AT&T’s website.
The 10.1-inch VivoTab RT was announced by Asus a few months back in August, and some of its features include a quad-core Tegra 3 processor, 32GB of internal storage, and, of course, 4G LTE connectivity. As its name suggests, it will ship with Windows RT, the ARM version of Windows 8, as well as a preview version of Office Home and Student 2013.
Prices for the tablets have yet to be revealed, but previous reports have suggested that RT tablets will fall somewhere in the $400-$500 price range.
