With all of the tablets coming out of the woodwork, many of which will have wireless data capabilities, AT&T has decided to give its customers a few choices when it comes to data plans for the new-fangled devices.
Now, AT&T will offer customers the option to subscribe to either prepaid or postpaid billing option for their tablets. For the sake of convenience, the new data plans for tablets can be added to customers’ existing wireless statements so they can have all of their charges on a single monthly bill.
To sweeten the deal, for a “limited time,” customers who sign up for the new postpaid plan of $25/2GB will receive their first month for free. The postpaid billing option will be available at all AT&T retail locations nationwide, ATT.com, Best Buy, Fry’s, Walmart stores, and select Nexcom locations.
Aside from $25/2GB the other postpaid plan is $14.99/250MB. For overages on the 2GB plan, customers will be charged $10/GB. The pre-paid plans have the same rates, except customers who go over the 2GB will have the opportunity to purchase an additional 2GB for $25. None of the plans require long-term commitment, but are instead done month-to-month.
