AT&T To Offer $5-a-Day Data Plan for Tablets

by Reads (2,636)

On a trip and want to check your email for a low price? AT&T will soon begin offering a one-day pass to its data network for only $5.

Of course, this is going to require a tablet with built-in support for AT&T’s cellular-wireless data network. There are a number of these available, including the Apple iPad 3 and iPad mini, the Google Nexus 7 II, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0, and Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0.

$5 will get the customer 250MB of data transfer — about 12% of a typical monthly allotment. Virtually all customers should find this more than sufficient for a single day’s email and web access.

The telecom has also announced that it will offer a $25 plan that will allow 1GB of data transfers over a three-month period.
