Barnes & Noble Cuts the Price for NOOK Simple Touch with GlowLight

NOOK Simple Touch with GlowLightThe NOOK Simple Touch with GlowLight debuted in the Spring for $140. That price has now been reduced — a move that is happening on the day before a rival ereader is released.

Barnes & Noble’s device has a 6-inch touchscreen that uses eInk technology to give readers a paper-like reading experience. It also was the first with GlowLight so the display emits a soft, adjustable glow, allowing users to read both in the dark.

Starting today, Barnes & Noble is offering its ebook reader for $120. It is available from this retailers stores and on nook.com.

New Competition

It’s certainly no coincidence that the price cut is going into effect on the day before the launch of the Kindle Paperwhite. This will be Amazon’s first ereader with the same front-light technology as its rival. The Paperwhite is also going to sell for $120.
