Now that the v1.2 update for NOOK Color has brought app support to the eReader/tablet, developers can begin creating new games and tools for the device. Astraware is getting in early on the game front, offering four new titles through NOOK Apps.
The games are all classics, but should be a breath of fresh air to NOOK users who have been eagerly awaiting app support on their devices. Astraware has developed Astraware Mahjong, Astraware Solitaire, Astraware Sudoku, and Astraware Casino, and all are available on the NOOK’s Shop marketplace.
Mahjong will offer more than 30 puzzles and four difficulty levels; Solitaire provides 12 different variants, including Spider, Klondike, and Free Cell; Sudoku has six difficulty levels in addition to a puzzle generator, Sudoku of the Day challenge, and the ability to input user-created puzzles.
These games from Astraware are likely a sign of things to come, as the NOOK gains steam as a platform and multifunctional device.
Each of the mentioned titles from Astraware costs $5, and all are currently available for download.
