With Amazon leading the low-priced tablet market thanks to its Kindle Fire, Barnes & Noble could be looking to better compete with the online retailer, perhaps with an 8GB NOOK Tablet.
According reports, Barnes & Noble is looking to release an 8GB version of their NOOK Tablet on February 22. The 8GB NOOK Tablet should be less expensive than the 16GB version currently available since a higher memory capacity typically means a higher price tag.
The 16GB NOOK currently ships for $249.99. With the Kindle Fire being sold for $199.99, the new NOOK Tablet may match that price, or at least approach it. B&N currently sells the NOOK Color, the NOOK Tablet predecessor, for $200. There are no rumors or reports about any design changes on this version of the NOOK.
