Update: It appears Best Buy had a little mishap on its website, as the HTC Flyer is once again priced at $299. Sorry guys!

Best Buy has given the HTC Flyer another price cut, this time marking the tablet at $100.

HTC FlyerJust a few days ago the electronics retailer dropped the price of the Flyer to $300, and now it appears on Best Buy’s website with a sale price of $99.99. Is this a fire sale? It would sure seem that way, though there has been no word from HTC of plans to discontinue the tablet. Perhaps Best Buy is trying to rid itself of excess inventory, but at this point it is unclear what is prompting this bargain sale.

The HTC Flyer launched back in May, receiving mildly positive reviews. The 7-inch tablet packs a single-core 1.5GHz processor, in addition to dual cameras, an SD card slot and 16GB of on-board storage. Despite being one of the few Gingerbread-based tablets in a sea of Honeycomb-backed slates, the Flyer’s most defining characteristic is its N-trig pen accessory and HTC Scribe Technology. While the Flyer was not perfect when we reviewed it back in June, the pen support and notes app made it a great mobile tablet for jotting down notes.

At the time of this writing, the tablet is sold out online. We recommend heading into a Best Buy location to see if they have any in stock.
