UPDATED: April 2, 2006 – For all of you who fell victim to our fun – HAPPY APRIL FOOL’S DAY! There is of course no “Quadcore processor” that we know of at this time. However, in all seriousness we are very impressed with Intel’s new Core Duo CPU. Stay tuned for our upcoming full review of the Toshiba M400 with Duo Core technology!

March of 2006 came to a surprising close as the Intel “Quadcore” processor was announced at a private press conference held Friday in San Jose, CA. We were lucky enough to attend the event that was nothing short of a whirlwind of excitement. It looks as though the new “Quadcore” processor will change the face of computing forever.

Most exciting of all is the plan for an exclusive initial release of the new Quadcore to the Tablet PC platform! Spokeman and PR agent Chuck Babbage who moderated the conference stated “Mr. Gates will do whatever it takes to demonstrate to the world on the infinite capacity of the Tablet PC. With the future of Tablet PC computing based on the Quadcore platform, it will be impossible for consumers to ignore the immense power of tablet computing.”

The first Quadcore processors are said to roll out in June. They will start at blazing clockspeeds of 4.7GHz and go even higher from there! Power consumption will be indentical to current Core Duo CPUs. The new Quadcore processors will not rely on integrated graphics, but will instead incorporate dedicated graphics chipsets (exclusively designed for the Quadcore platform) said to be announced by ATI and NVIDIA in upcoming weeks.
